The Lagos State Government says it is committed to the general urban regeneration, rehabilitation and upgrading of Ladoke Akintola, Road, reconstruction of Oladipo Bateye/Tayo Ayeni/Adetunji Adeoba, and Sowemimo Network of Roads, in Ikeja GRA Local Government Area.
“To ensure a seamless process the Office of Infrastructure under the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure held a stakeholders meeting to allow residents to understand the peculiarity of pains and gains before the end of the projects” .
Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, Olufemi Daramola, represented by Permanent Secretary of the office, Tokunbo Oyenuga said this at a stakeholders meeting on the projects at GRA Ikeja, calling on residents to cooperate with the state Government to ensure the timely delivery of the roads which would be done with concrete pavements, solar powered lights among others.

He said the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure would continue to work with stakeholders on the projects to improve the entire road networks in the area while urging residents to also build within the limit of their property.
Speaking on behalf of residents, Chairman of Ikeja GRA Residents Association, Muiz Banire, who spoke through Ade Atobatele, thanked the state government for addressing issues that would ensure the delivery of quality road networks in the area which were critical to the overall development of the state.
He appealed to the Lagos State government to ensure prompt completion of all roads that would be rehabilitated to minimise the impacts of the hardship the project would impose on residents, with assurance of maximum cooperation of all residents for the success of the projects.

At the same time, we urge the government to ensure prompt completion of the road projects to minimise the hardship that residents and businesses may experience during construction. We assure the government of the maximum cooperation of residents towards the success of the projects,” he stated.
The Two Contractors handling the projects restated commitment to delivering the projects on schedule and building a foundation for community growth, future generations and development while stakeholders also urged the state government to address issues raised at the meeting holistically.
