The Governance Advisory Council (GAC) has officially endorsed the Lagos State deputy governor Obafemi Hamzat as their consensus candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
This was made known on Tuesday by the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on New Media, Jubril Gawat, via his official X handle.
According to the post, the endorsement was announced by GAC leader, Tajudeen Olusi, during a meeting at Lagos House, Marina.
He said, “FLASH: The Governance Advisory Council (GAC) today unanimously endorsed and adopted the Deputy Governor of Lagos State dr obafemi hamzat to be consensus candidate for the 2027 elections in Lagos State,” he wrote.
“Alhaji Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi spoke on behalf of the GAC, today at the Lagos House Marina. The GAC members also announced that they paid for his nomination form.
“The endorsement signals growing alignment within the Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 elections,” the post added.
