The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has replied the Presidency over a recent statement in which it claimed the Vice President Kashim Shettima was on the same page with President Bola Tinubu on the suspension of Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara.
The ADC also slammed President Tinubu over what it described as the unconstitutional interference in the governance of Rivers State, insisting that he lacks the legal authority to remove a sitting governor.
Recall that the VP had on Thursday while recounting how former President Goodluck Jonathan tried to remove him as governor of Borno State, said the President lacks the power to remove an elected Governor.
His remark came amid the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State by President Bola Tinubu.
The Presidency had in a statement earlier on Friday said the VP’s remark had no link to the Rivers State crisis.
