Ramadan : LOI Foundation fetes Oshodi residents, urges Nigerians to vote for Tinubu in 2027

The Lawrence Olanrewaju Foundation,LOI, on Saturday fetes thousands of Oshodi residents in Lagos State with food items as Muslim faithful observe the fasting period and call on Nigerians to vote for President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Speaking at the foundation’s Ramadan lecture and Ifthar package with the topic “Hope for the Future: Building a Better Life After Ramadan held at Oshodi, Lagos State, the founder of the Foundation, Lawrence Olanrewaju said President Bola Tinubu has stabilised the Nigeria economy since he was voted in 2023 and needs more time to finish what he has started.

He added that the Ifthar package was a way of giving back to the society and reminded Nigerians to use the fasting period to build a better society .

“I have always believed in sharing things with my brothers and giving back to society. I want people to know Ramadan is not just about fasting, it’s about building better communities. President Bola Tinubu has done a lot since he came on board but he can’t fix everything in a day. When something has gone bad you need time to fix it up. I appeal to every Nigerian to vote for President Bola Tinubu so that he can have more time to finish what he started,” Olanrewaju said.

In his lecture, Professor Kunle Gbenro from the University of Lagos, UNILAG, urged Muslim faithful to imbibe the spirit of generosity, compassion and kindness during and after the fasting period.

Adegbenro noted that lessons learned during Ramadan should not be abandoned after it has ended but should be practiced at all times.

“ Faith, discipline, compassion and generosity are qualities that should be imbibed. We should know that fasting is not just about staying away from eating, it should transform and reform us during and after it. We must continue showing the same qualities after the end of Ramadan.”

The professor added that to build a better future for the country, the government must support young people and help build their talents.

“The fasting period should be time for reflection of our present time and future. We are facing economic difficulties but if we want to build a better future for the country, the government must support young people and provide them with opportunities to develop their talents. We must encourage economic development in our communities.”

The Chief Imam Missioner of the Council of Imams, Oshodi/Isolo, AbdulWaheed urged both Christian and Muslim faithful to live in peace. He called on religious leaders to lead their followers in praying for peace and harmony in the country.
