PDP Will Resolve Lingering Crisis Soon, Says Bode George

Former Deputy National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), Chief Olabode George has asserted that the forthcoming  May 27, 2025 National Executive Committee meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  will bring about a solution to the current crisis affecting the party.

The party chieftain, who disclosed this at a media chat in Lagos at the weekend, said the elders of the party will address  the nagging and divisive  issues affecting the party with the view to resolving matters and instil the required discipline that would make PDP position  itself  as a worthy opposition platform.

He described  PDP as an Iroko tree with a  deep tap root, stressing that there is no organisation that doesn’t have crisis.

‘’May 27 will be a decision day. Those  who want to leave the party are free to leave. It is either you are with us, or you are not. Remain in the party or move out. May 27 will be a restoration day for our party”, George said.

The Atona Oodua  also called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to release the report of the 2014 National Conference in memory of the late Pa Ayo Adebanjo and Chief Edwin Clark.

The two elder statesmen alongside other eminent Nigerians converged in Abuja at a constitutional conference organized  by  former  President  Goodluck Jonathan to fashion out a new constitution in 2014.

Jonathan however handed over the conference’s  report to his successor, Muhammadu Buhari, who made no mention of it during his eight years in power.

George urged  President Tinubu to release the report of the 2014 National Conference in the memory of the two late elder statesmen, Pa Ayo Adebanjo and Chief Edwin Clark.

” The only thing I am asking and I am directing it to President Tinubu directly is that in their memory, let the report of the 2014 conference be released to Nigerians.

” This is the 2nd of May 2025, as a respect for the Labour, for civilized living, release the report of 2014 national Confab for the benefit of this country. Let’s debate and talk on it

” This should be done in the memory of these two old men to immortalize their names. This is because they contributed the best the God gave them to the conference. Pa Adebanjo was 96, Chief Clark was 97 and they died a week apart recently.

” I appreciate the two elder statesmen. They adopted me as their political son

I pray their memory be a lasting lesson not only for their families but for Nigeria”, George said..

Chief George also called on President Tinubu to curb the current insecurity pervading the country.

He said, ” Let’s stop the kidnapping and killing going on everywhere. We can’t continue like this. Nigerians are helpless now”.
