The Lagos State government though the Lagos State Law Enforcement Training Institute, LETI, on Friday held a Passing-Out-Parade for a new set of trained law enforcement officers as a way of further boosting security in the state.
LETI is responsible for the training of all the law enforcement officers in Lagos which includes Lagos State Transport Management Authority, LASTMA, Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps, KAI , Vehicle Inspection Officers, VIO and Central Business District, CBD. However during last year’s training, Lagos Waterways Authority , LASWA and Lagos State Parking Authority, LASPA were included in the training.
Speaking at the 2025 Passing-Out -Parade event held at the LETI head office, Oshodi expressway, Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu represented by the Commissioner for Establishment and Training, Afolabi Ayantayo urged the officers to respect human rights in the course of discharging their duties.
“You have had a successful transition from rigorous training to noble service of serving your state. Your dedication throughout the training has prepared you for the challenges ahead. You have been entrusted with the authority of the state, a privipege that carries with it responsibility

As law enforcement officers, you are not only enforcers of rules, you are embodiment of peace, symbol of integrity . The way you conduct yourself will represent the way people feel about government and set standard for others to follow..Lagos is a city of opportunities but you will face situations that test your judgement, courage and commitment . You must approach every challenge with firmness, fairness and compassion . Let integrity define you and let respect for human rights shape you,”Sanwo-Olu urges them.
The Director -General, LETI, Mrs Abiola Adeyinka.said the officers have been trained in traffic and environmental, management, neighborhood safety and security as well as vehicle safety.

She urged the officers to be professional and responsible in discharging their duties to the people, imbibe the spirit of community partnership and leave a positive impression on the citizens.
“As you embark on the next leg of your journey, remember the qualities that define our enforcement officers; professionalism, responsibility and community partnership. We look forward to the good effect you will undoubtedly make,” she said.

The Director-General further said over 3,000 law enforcement officers from different agencies were trained by LETI in 2025 and solicited for more funding from the state government so that more enforcement personnel can be trained to meet up with the growing population of Lagos State.
In attendance was the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Lawal Pedro (SAN) represented by Permanent Secretary and Solicitor-General, , Ahmed Oyenuga, heads of security agencies, representatives of Department of State Services, DSS, among others.
