…Agency celebrates Lagos Business Icon
The Lagos State Central Business District, CBD agency has charged stakeholders within the districts to uphold the virtues of Madam Efunroye Tinubu of Lagos Island in the development of their business environment.
Describing Madam as a beacon of purposeful and structured commerce, Special Adviser to the Governor on Central Business District, Hon. Mrs Bola Olumegbon-Lawal added that Madam Efunroye Tinubu was full of resilience, strength, and vision in her business environment while promoting her trade in the State.
During the memorial ceremony themed “Echoes of Madam Tinubu-A Historical Awakening” at the popular Tinubu Square on Thursday, she said it was important to celebrate the legacy of the late industrious woman in whose name the market was named urging stakeholders to emulate late Efunroye industriousness .
Hon. Olumegbon-Lawal also used the occasion to educate market women, school children, and members of the public on the proper and ideal way to use the marketplace and other properties in business districts.

She also noted that the agency has decided to step up advocacy on its activities using Efunroye’s distinguished character and her invaluable contributions to the growth of business and commercial activities.
According to the SpecialAdviser, the CBD is ready to maintain law and order while creating conducive areas for business on Lagos Island to thrive.
“I stand before you today at this momentous occasion of “Echoes of Madam Tinubu – A Historic Awakening.. We gather here not only to celebrate the life and enduring legacy of Madam Tinubu but also to pay tribute to the past Obas and distinguished leaders whose invaluable contributions have significantly shaped the history of Lagos and Nigeria.
“Madam Tinubu was not just a figure of her time; she was a beacon of resilience, strength, and vision. Her unwavering commitment to the welfare of our community and her numerous contributions to the socio-economic development of Lagos serve as an enduring source of inspiration for us all.

“As an Agency, we shall continue to enforce the law in order to maintain a safe environment for all business interests in the districts,” she stressed.
Hon. Lawal appealed to members of the public to maintain positive business engagement within the various districts spread across the state in order to promote business growth in Lagos.
She noted that the enlightenment platform will be serialized in order to improve information and cordial relationships in all business environments while urging stakeholders to embrace unity, positivity, and progress.
“We advocate for environmentally sustainable practices within businesses, ensuring that economic development aligns with ecological preservation.
“This event serves as a platform to enlighten the public about our mission and the significant role we play in fostering a harmonious community. Together, let us embrace the values of unity, integrity, and progress,” she said.
Former Special Adviser on Central Business District, Hon. Agboola Dabiri appealed to market traders and property owners within CBD areas to maintain proper economic habits to foster business success.

He thanked the government of Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu for improving on the activities of the agency, adding that this has continued to provide healthy economic growth in Lagos State.
“Business engagement can only get better when all players in the business districts play their part in the development of business and commerce in the state.
“I thank the government for not only sustaining this agency but improving their activities for the success of all business environments,” he added.
Students of various schools within the Lagos Island metropolis also attended and entertained participants with quizzes and debates.
