Jigawa Delegates Disrupt Atiku, Obi’s Coalition Meeting

A coalition meeting involving former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party’s Peter Obi, former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, and others was disrupted by delegates from Jigawa State.

The meeting, which was held at the Abuja Continental Hotel on Sunday, is said to be a coalition meeting for the North.

Organised by the National Political Consultative Group (North), the meeting was briefly disrupted following a disagreement over representation for Jigawa State.

The atmosphere grew tense after Babachir Lawal, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, named a delegate to represent the state.

During the chaos at the meeting
Objecting to the selection, Jigawa delegates stormed the stage, barring the nominee from speaking and refusing to be represented by them.

Order was restored after several minutes of appeals when Mustapha Lamido, son of former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido, and another delegate were selected to represent the state.
