In Belgium….There is the Good Life After Retirement

…The Newsturf Foundation Senior Citizens Series…….

When a person turns 65 in Belgium, they receive a letter from the Pensions Department:
“You have become a pensioner.
Please send us your bank account number to receive your monthly pension.”
And if you need help?
“Call this number to schedule an appointment.”
But that’s not all. In Belgium, retirement doesn’t mean being forgotten—it means being protected.
Here are some of the benefits:
✔ Reduced rent for a house or apartment
✔ Monthly financial support for housing
✔ Access to social security at a symbolic cost
✔ Discounts on electricity and public transportation
✔ Almost free healthcare
✔ Semi-free dental care (and if you don’t visit the dentist for a year… you pay a fine!)
And all of this in a country with no oil and no mines, but with something far more valuable:
Honesty.
Because when no one steals, there is enough for everyone.
