Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State has resigned his membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The governor resigned from the PDP along with 19 members of the State House of Assembly.
The governor’s spokesman, Daniel Alabrah, confirmed the resignation on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
All is now set for Governor Diri to pitch his tent with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The confirmation ends months of speculations about the governor’s defection to the ruling APC.
