BREAKING: Prof Nentawe Yilwatda emerges new APC national chairman

…Extends Tenure Of Ward, Local Government, And State Executive Committees

Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has emerged as the new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following a meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) held in Abuja on Thursday.

Confirming the appointment, Special Adviser, Media & Public Communication/Spokesperson to President Bola Tinubu, Sunday Dare, in a post via , said Yilwatda was immediately sworn into office.

He wrote, “APC GETS NEW CHAIRMAN IN PROFESSOR NENTAWE GOSHWE YILWATDA. TAKES OATH OF OFFICE IMMEDIATELY.”

Yilwatda, born on 8 August 1968, is a Nigerian politician from Plateau State, an engineer, and academic who currently serves as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.

He was appointed to the ministerial position by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in October 2024.

His emergence as chairman comes after the brief acting leadership of Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, who was appointed by the party to steer its affairs following the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

Dalori, the APC Deputy National Chairman (North), was directed by President Tinubu to assume the acting position pending the NEC meeting to officially fill the vacancy.

Meanwhile, APC has extended the tenure of its Ward, Local Government, and State Executive Committees until December 31, 2025.
